Cataracts...

Most people over 60 have some level of cataracts and almost everyone over 50 loses their ability to read and see comfortably at all distances due to presbyopia. Now there's good news for millions of people with poor vision from cataracts and presbyopia.

REZOOM LENS

The ReZoom Multifocal Lens is based on over 20 years of advancements in lens optics used in the treatment of cataracts and can be implanted during a brief 15 to 45 minute outpatient procedure with little to no downtime in most cases. The ReZoom Multifocal Lens provides a full range of vision with freedom from glasses in most situations.

CRYSTALENS

During cataract surgery, your physician will replace your natural lens with an intraocular lens or IOL. Today there are multiple types of IOLs, each delivering a different performance profile based on how the lens is designed. Here are the basics about the 3 main types of IOLs:

  • Standard Monofocal IOL…the monofocal is a fixed lens, it doesn’t move and is designed to deliver improved vision at just one distance, usually far.
  • Multifocal IOL…a multifocal lens uses multiple visual zones that are built into the lens itself to provide vision at various distances.
  • Accommodating IOL…flexes or accommodates to focus on subjects at various distances, delivering a continuous range of vision; near, intermediate and far.

Crystalens is the one and only FDA approved accommodating lens available in the United States. More than twice the number of patients implanted with the crystalens could see at all distances compared to a standard IOL.
